Connecting students with the aviation industry is at the heart of what we do—especially in a sector facing a growing shortage of skilled professionals.
On April 29th, 2026, Next‑AT hosted its 2nd Career & Orientation Day at its headquarters in Mendrisio (Via Maria Ghioldi‑Schweizer 2). The event was dedicated to fourth‑ and fifth‑year high school students interested in pursuing a career in aviation maintenance, as well as to current students enrolled in the Next‑AT Basic Maintenance program.

Students also had the opportunity to engage directly with professionals currently working in the field, including Paolo Dominioni, a Next‑AT graduate from 2023 now employed at a leading rotorcraft maintenance company, and a Senior Maintenance Technician from Nayak with over 15 years of hands‑on experience. An open Q&A session allowed participants to gain practical insights into daily work in line and hangar maintenance, career prospects, and employment opportunities at both European and international levels.
Events like this provide young people with a concrete and realistic view of careers in aviation maintenance—a sector experiencing a significant and growing talent shortage—and help bridge the gap between education and industry.
We sincerely thank all participating companies, speakers, and students for their active engagement and contribution. We look forward to welcoming the next generation of aviation professionals at our upcoming events.

The day focused on the role of the Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT)—one of the most regulated and strategic professions in the aviation industry—and offered a structured overview of both training pathways and professional opportunities within the sector.
During the event, we presented our EASA Part‑147 certified training program, outlining the structure of the curriculum, access requirements, license categories (A, B1, B2), and the timeline toward achieving the EASA Part‑66 license.
Industry perspectives were shared by the HR teams from Nayak Aircraft Services and Ryanair, with Ryanair illustrating how maintenance technicians operate within a large, structured airline environment, the quality and procedural standards applied daily, and the internal training and career‑growth opportunities available.
